U4GM Covers GTA 5 Story Mode Mission Routes - Andrew736 - 07-21-2026 GTA 5's mission structure can feel messy when you're trying to work out what actually counts. The campaign has a clear spine, sure, but heist choices, side jobs, character scenes, and alternate endings make the numbers look different depending on the list you use. That's also why players jumping in with GTA 5 Accounts should separate Story Mode progress from Online content before planning a route. The Kortz Center Heist, added to GTA Online in July 2026, is a separate job entirely. It doesn't add a mission to Michael, Franklin, or Trevor's campaign total. Story Mode Numbers Aren't as Simple as They Look The official Story Mode tracker records 69 missions. That's the number most players see in the stats menu. Yet one save can include up to 74 story-related jobs when certain setups and family missions are added in. If you count every route that can't be played on the same save, including both heist plans and all three endings, the wider pool sits at roughly 83 entries. Nothing's broken here. Rockstar built several jobs as either-or choices. Pick the smart Jewel Store plan, for example, and you won't do the loud setup missions. The same thing happens later with the Bureau Raid and The Big Score. A Practical Campaign Route The opening run is fairly direct: Prologue, Franklin and Lamar, Repossession, Complications, Father/Son, Pulling Favors, Chop, Marriage Counseling, Daddy's Little Girl, Friend Request, and The Long Stretch. Don't skip Pulling Favors because it looks like a random tow-truck task. It's required. From there, Casing the Jewel Store leads into the first major choice, then Trevor arrives through Mr. Philips and the story opens up. You'll soon find missions popping up for different characters at once, so a slightly different order in the middle of the game is normal.
Kortz Center Heist and Solo Planning Kortz Center is built more like a planning puzzle than an old Story Mode score. Start by scouting the museum, then choose infiltration gear, an unmarked weapon package, a getaway vehicle, and complete the Access Code and Hacking Device jobs. Optional prep can change the run: Guard Routes helps when you're learning patrols, Guard Shipments weakens security, and the Glass Cutter matters if valuable art is locked behind cases. For solo stealth, the Staff Key Card, Security Loadout, and Annihilator Stealth make sense on paper, though the target layout can still spoil an Elite attempt. If a requested item lands in the two-player Crisp Gallery, you simply can't complete the buyer list alone. That's frustrating, not difficult. Mission Replay Has a Different Value Now The new weekly reward structure gives Online replay a more practical angle. First completions can be worth more, while repeated finales may pay less, so it's worth choosing prep jobs with a purpose instead of clearing every icon. Story Mode remains the cleaner experience: scout, choose a plan, deal with the consequences. Online adds more moving parts, and not all of them feel fair. Still, players looking to fund those repeat runs can buy GTA 5 Money while keeping their focus on the routes, targets, and missions they actually enjoy. |
